This recipe is just in time for all your Spring picnics!
If you have plans to be eating outside for this Memorial Day weekend you will want to make this lemonade! It is lightly sweet, not tart and taste perfectly fruity. This strawberry lemonade is delicious and thirst-quenching.
I served this to my friends and family and it did not disappoint. While strawberries are in season and on sale, buy a bundle of them and turn it into this strawberry lemonade concentrate to put in the freezer and have in later months when you want some taste of Spring. This simple recipe you will turn to again and again.
Note: I do not have a fine mesh strainer ( I want one ) and this turned out delicious so if you don’t have one go ahead and make this it still is delicious. This concentrate will keep in your freezer! Also, I think it would be delicious to use limes and make limeade as well.
4 cups sliced ripe strawberries
1/2 cup raw sugar
4 lemons ( enough to make 1 cup juice )
- In a large bowl, toss the strawberries with sugar and let sit at room temperature while you prepare lemons.
2. Juice the lemons and strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer.
3. In a blender whiz the berries and their juice with the lemon juice. this is your strawberry lemonade concentrate.
4. To serve: Combine the 1 part lemonade with 2 parts water. Mix well and add ice cubes.
